Moscow, Dec. 7, 2018. /Kabar/. A solemn opening ceremony of a monument to famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov took place in Moscow onFriday. The monument has been installed in the park, also named after the writer, at the intersection of Pavlovskaya Street and Podolskoye Highway. The significant event just before the master's 90th anniversary was held with the participation of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Russian officials. The Kyrgyz delegation led by the country's president arrived for the event, where they were awaited by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Jamankulov, Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky and Special Representative of Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy. Among the honorary guests were also the sons of Aitmatov - Eldar and Sanjar, creator of the monument - sculptor Azamat Abdyrakhmanov and architect Sergey Pavlov. The country leader noted at the beginning of his speech that the event is very important and significant for the two peoples and the entire literary world as a whole, and sincerely congratulated all those present on this significant day. “On behalf of the entire Kyrgyz people, I would to express sincere gratitude to all those who participated in the implementation of this project. Today we are witnessing the opening of this beautiful work of art. Once again, we are convinced that not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in Russia, the memory and work of Chyngyz Torokulovich Aitmatov is honored. Aitmatov is a classic not only of Kyrgyz, but also of Russian literature. With his talent, he was managed to become a prominent representative of both Kyrgyz and Russian literature. He himself always said that both Kyrgyz and Russian languages are his two wings. He was the kind of person from whom always the good was always expected,” Jeenbekov told.
