Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev met with head of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) representation office in the Kyrgyz Republic Shamsh Kassim-Lakha. During the meeting Ablygaziev expressed gratitude for the participation of the Aga Khan Foundation in projects of social, economic and educational direction, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported. “I would like to note with satisfaction the activities of the Aga Khan organization in Kyrgyzstan in addressing the current issues of the country. One of the clearest examples of mutually beneficial cooperation is the functioning of the University of Central Asia in Naryn. I will note that we have outlined ambitious plans within the framework of the implementation of the National Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2018–2040 approved by the President of the country and the Government Programs aimed at the development of the country's regions,” said Abylgaziev. The prime minister focused on the fact that the government intends to improve the situation in the regions, in particular, to create new jobs, launch enterprises, develop industrial production and more. In turn, the head of the AKDN representation office in Kyrgyzstan conveyed to the prime minister welcoming words on behalf of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV. He noted that the priority activity of the Fund is investment in the educational sphere. However, they intend to provide full support in other spheres too, covering other areas of the country. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha spoke briefly about the activities of the Aga Khan Development Network in Kyrgyzstan and the implementation of projects aimed at improving the social and economic situation of citizens.
