신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 재난 위기 단계가 다음 달 1일부터 가장 낮은 ‘관심’ 단계로 조정된다. 국내 첫 환자가 나온 2020년 1월 20일 이후 4년 3개월여 만의 ‘엔데믹’(대유행 종식)이다. 19일 코로나19 중앙사고수습본부(중수본)는 현재 ‘경계’인 코로나19 위기 단계를 5월 1일부터 ‘관심’으로 내린다고 밝혔다. 위기 단계는 심각-경계-주의-관심 등 4단계로 이뤄지는데 두 단계를 한꺼번에 낮추는 것이다. 질병관리청에 따르면 코로나19 신규 확진자는 올해 3월 첫째 주 4705명에서 4월 둘째 주 2283명으로 줄었다. ‘관심’ 단계에선 지금까지 남아있던 방역 조치와 의료 지원 정책이 대부분 사라진다. 먼저 병원 등에 일부 남아있던 마스크 착용 의무가 권고로 바뀐다. 확진자 격리 권고 기준은 기존 ‘검체 채취일로부터 5일’에서 ‘주요 증상 호전 후 24시간’으로 완화된다. 기침이나 발열 같은 증상이 있어도 호전되면 하루 정도 쉬고 일상에 복귀하면 된다는 뜻

SK하이닉스가 대만 TSMC와 손잡고 인공지능(AI) 반도체에 필수인 차세대 고대역폭메모리(HBM)를 공동 개발하기로 했다. HBM 세계 1위(SK하이닉스)와 파운드리(위탁생산) 세계 1위(TSMC)가 ‘기술 동맹’을 맺은 것이다. Air pollution is the single largest environmental health risk in the EU and causes significant damage to ecosystems. As part of the European Green Deal's zero pollution ambition, on 26 October 2022 the European Commission tabled a proposal for a revision of the Ambient Air Quality Directives. The proposed directive would set air quality standards for 2030 that are more closely aligned with World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations, as updated in 2021. It would also include a mechanism for the standards' regular review based on the latest scientific information. To achieve them on time, the Member States would have to establish air quality plans ahead of 2030. Provisions on air quality monitoring and assessment would be updated, including through new requirements for monitoring pollutants of emerging concern, such as ultrafine particles. Stakeholders' reactions to the proposal have been mixed. Non-governmental organisations call for full alignment with the WHO guidelines by 2030 at the latest, and for penalties if the 2030 deadline is missed. Industry representatives insist on the need to meet current standards first, before aiming for higher ones. The European Parliament and the Council reached a provisional agreement on the file on 20 February 2024. The text, approved in March by Member States representatives in the Council and by Parliament's Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, now requires formal adoption by the co-legislators.
