The poem titled Dashain Bonus describes a mother whose sighs and exclamations are increasing and whose heart is pained by hopes dying early. At the top of her list of things to do is treatment for her aching knee. It depicts a life squeezed by limited income, where she must survive under a short blanket as if getting through a night in Magh.
