Four police officers in Lagos have been detained over a viral video that showed them harassing a man in Ikorodu. The footage circulated widely online, drawing a swift response from the Lagos State Police Command. Beyond the detentions, the command also disbanded the tactical team the officers belonged to. No explanation has been given so far for the officers' behaviour in the clip. The speed of the action suggests the command wanted to contain public anger before it grew. Questions about aggressive policing are a recurring theme in Nigeria, which is why such clips spark reactions so quickly. The detained officers now face the command's internal process, and further announcements are expected.
