One of the best female cyclists in Slovenian history has decided to end her road racing career. The retirement closes out years spent at the front of the domestic scene and in international fields. She was quick to add that fans have not seen the last of her on two wheels. According to her own words, she will still show up at some races, even without a full road program. She has not specified which events those will be, so it remains unclear whether she plans one-off starts or a shift to another discipline. Slovenian women's cycling has long been carried by a handful of established names, and her step back thins that group further. Younger riders in the national setup will now have a bigger opening to move into the spotlight. Her decision ends a career that many considered among the finest the country has produced.
