The legal battle over Ottoman heritage has lasted five years for Nilüfer Akcoşkun Bozbağ. After her mother died in 2021, she began researching her family background. She identified herself as a seventh‑generation descendant of Grand Vizier Melek Mehmed Pasha. Ottoman archives allegedly indicate she is linked to twenty parcels covering about 120,000 square metres. She is pursuing legal actions concerning the ownership of those lands and related endowments. The case continues in the courts.
Kocaeli’de yaşayan Nilüfer Akcoşkun Bozbağ’ın, annesinin 2021’de vefatının ardından aile geçmişini araştırması, Osmanlı dönemine uzanan bir miras mücadelesine dönüştü. Sadrazam Melek Mehmed Paşa’nın 7. kuşak torunu olduğunu belirten Bozbağ, Osmanlı arşivlerinde toplam 120 bin metrekarelik 20 arsa tespit ettiğini öne sürdü. Bozbağ, taşınmazlar ve vakıflarla ilgili hukuki süreçleri sürdürüyor.
