The Community of Madrid has approved the first stage of a demolition project. This plan involves tearing down 36 inadequate housing units in the Colonia Experimental. The neighborhood consists of 408 apartments, each measuring 40 square meters. Many of these units are currently in a state of near ruin. The area originated as an experiment during the 1950s. The decision comes after decades of disputes.
