Green economy in Kyrgyzstan is developing most actively in the agricultural sector, head of the Department of Strategic Planning and Development of the Regions of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Kadyrov told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency. He said that the potential for the development of green economy in agriculture is the cultivation of organic products. “As is known, the market in Kyrgyzstan is limited. In order to further increase the potential of agricultural products and export it, you need to find your niche,” he said. In particular, Kadyrov noted that today organic plum is being grown in Kyrgyzstan, which is exported even to Europe. “Plum quality standards even meet the requirements of Europe. Now they are selling plums to Germany. At the end of 2017, 10 tons were exported, and in 2018 it is planned to increase this figure to 100 tons.
