한덕수 국무총리는 16일 “정부는 글로벌 스탠다드 수준의 소비자 안전을 강화하면서 온라인 플랫폼 시장의 활력을 제고할 수 있도록 ‘해외직구 급증에 따른 소비자 안전 강화 및 기업 경쟁력 제고 방안’을 마련했다”고 밝혔다.최근 국내 성장세가 급장한 중국 이커머스 업체 알리익스프레스와 테무에서 판매 중인 어린이 제품 등에 대한 안전성 검사에서 인체에 유해한 다량의 물질이 검출돼는 등 소비자 피해가 커지는 상황에서 정부 차원의 대응을 강화하겠다는 것이다. 한 총리는 이날 오전 인천 중구 인천공항본부세관에서 열린 제39회 국정현안관계장관회의를 주재하며 “폭발적으로 성장한 온라인 유통시장에 대해서 전 세계의 다양한 제품을 편리하게 구매할 수 있다는 긍정적인 측면과, 소비자 안전 문제, 피해구제 등 문제점을 지적하는 시각이 공존하고 있다”며 이같이 말했다.한 총리는 “우선 각별한 안전관리가 요구되는 어린이 사용 제품과 화재사고 위험이 높은 전기·생활용품 등에 대해서는 안전인증을 더욱 강화하겠다
